PURSUING A BALLOT INITIATIVE TO OUTLAW DARK MONEY IN OHIO POLITICS As we're just getting started, the focus is on building up our
mailing list , spreading awareness, and seeking volunteers.
1ST GOAL: 1,OOO SUPPORTERS
The first step is to submit the proposed initiative to the state to be assessed for legal sufficiency. Assuming it's deemed legally sufficient, the state then requires us to collect signatures from 1,000 verified Ohio voters within a 10-day period.
1st Action Step: We'll submit the proposal for the legal sufficiency review only after we're confident we have enough supporters and volunteers to collect the necessary signatures in the 10-day period.

state-wide signature drive
Ohio requires a certain of number of signatures submitted before an initiative is placed on the ballot. The requirements are based on the voting patterns from the last gubernatorial election.
For a constitutional amendment, we'll need:
State-wide: 413,487 signatures state-wide (10% of the votes cast in the last governor's race)
AND
In 44 counties (out of 88): 3% of the votes cast from a given county.
To keep track of our progress and for ease of visualizing the data, we've grouped the 88 counties into 17 regions.
