About the incumbent

Joyce Beatty first took this congressional seat in 2012. Political observers note that she has long benefitted from Ohio's gerrymandered maps.

She has an extensive history in accepting corporate donations and donations from foreign-influence PACs. For details, see Beatty on Open Secrets & Beatty FEC filings.

In 2024, Beatty captured 71% of the vote.

the 2026 race, so far

In Joyce Beatty's seventh run for US OH-03, she is facing renewed scrutiny over her affiliation with known Epstein enabler Les Wexner. As late as June 2025, Beatty accepted a donation from the disgraced billionaire.

For the first time since 2020, the incumbent is facing a challenger in the DEM primary.

DEM candidate Joe Gerard has announced his campaign will be self-funded and will not be soliciting or accepting donations. For more info about his campaign, visit joeforcongress.com

As the GOP candidate is unopposed, he will be on the November ballot. Cleophus Dulaney first ran but did not win in the 2020 GOP primary for this seat. His campaign will draw attention based on being charged with offenses related to the Jan 6 2021 assault on the capitol.

Independent candidates have until May 4th to qualify for the ballot.
