what happened last time

Ohio's 1st congressional district is one of the two remaining OH districts packed to highly favor DEM candidates. 

As the incumbent since 2022, Landsman has received significant funding from pro-Israel PACs.

In the 2024 race, the GOP challenger was bolstered by outside spending.

Because this district is so gerrymandered, which ever candidate wins the DEM primary has a strong advantage in the November election. And since PACs prefer incumbents, Landsman has an extra advantage.
